ive written about this subject before. here --in the UK--i only know of one death--where blood was refused--and widely reported--in the last 10 years ive been on ex jw sites. ( in this example--the persons injuries caused his death--not the absense of a transfusion )

over the years i have been around a few, that if a "big" or "unusual" word or phrase is used at the assembly or by a co/do, to stress a point.
then eldub "somebody" will use it at every meeting, if they can find a way to squeeze it into a part or commit.. most of them get over it after a few meetings.
same overseer--reading a letter about upcoming co visit--kept referring to LINCOLN ROAD---as--"LINCOLLON ROAD". finally someone piped up--"ITS PRONOUNCED LIN-CON BROTHER"........a pause--then he erupted--"SEE--SOMEONES PUT AN L IN LINCON"

we all used to snigger when our congregation servant ( this was in the 60's ) said things like " Pauls letter to Matthew ". in fact--he was a lovely old chap--heart of gold...thick as shit.

just though i'd start a thread devoted to languages, dialects/sociolects and accents, with the idea being that posters can comment on any language, or dialect or accent of any language, on this thread.. any phrases, expressions or idioms that you find interesting are also welcome.
first, the subject of english accents came up on another thread.. the british isles have many different types of accent (although many of the dialects may be dying out), and if i start to take a closer look, i can't help but see 'patterns' .... in received pronunciation of standard english, the letter r is pronounced initially, between vowels, and after consonants, e.g.
red, arrow, break.
i'm from Berbigubb--the 2nd largest city in the UK--but i left there 47 years ago. but i can still speak brummie.
now i live on the oilawoy.
i'm fascinated with different UK accents. Geordie-- ( NooCassl)--is almost a song. Scouse is a bit aggressive. Lahndon--awful.
